Pulverized Glass In the News: Glass Half Full Is Expanding!

Our customer Glass Half Full, based in the Gulf Coast, got started in glass processing after originally raising money to buy an Andela Glass Pulverizing System. Along with that they created a glass collection program in New Orleans to build a mountain of glass waste. Networking and partnering with local universities helped them find the most beneficial uses for glass sand and aggregate, and they identified wetland restoration as a major opportunity.

As they grew and completed coastal restoration projects with glass sand, it became apparent that they needed a bigger facility…

“We pretty much said go big,” owner Franziska Trautmann said. “Ever since we started, it’s always felt like there was more demand for glass recycling than we’ve been able to handle…”

At full capacity, with their upgrade to our GP-2HD Glass Pulverizer, they will be able to process up to 150 tons of glass per day — creating much more crushed glass for applications such as coastal restoration, a field in which Glass Half Full is a pioneer.
